Communications

Request More Info

Communications involves the distribution of information on a large scale to a mass audience. Courses may include an intro to mass communication; an intro to electronic media; video production; media literacy and writing; radio and TV writing and announcing; news reporting; photojournalism and news photography; editing and layout; public relations; and advertising art.

Many courses are enhanced by hands-on work with student media outlets (newspaper, radio, television and website).Communications courses are listed under the four-letter rubric (course prefix) COMM and include Mass Communications and Journalism courses.

“This career is a good fit for me. It’s a good path for people like me who want to express themselves artistically but also want to have a good career opportunity in the business world. I would highly recommend Brookhaven’s program, and I think the whole career field will really grow over the next decade.” Read Oscar Vela II's story.
