University of Texas at Dallas

Dallas College has partnered with the University of Texas at Dallas to create a unique transfer opportunity for students with coursework in applied sciences.

How it Works

Students who successfully complete Associate of Applied Science (WECM) course credits within specific applied science degrees at Dallas College may petition for a limited number of elective credit hours to be awarded to the following three majors within the School of Economic, Political and Policy Science (EPPS), after admission to UT Dallas:

For more information regarding the acceptance of Associate of Applied Science (WECM) courses at UT Dallas, please visit the UT Dallas Registrar’s Workforce Credit website.

Thinking About it?

Attend a Preview Friday event to learn more about transferring to UT Dallas. You’ll hear about the admission process, campus life, financial aid, scholarships and more. In-person and virtual experiences are held on Fridays throughout the fall and spring semesters. Attendees may qualify for a $50 application fee waiver! Choose an event and register today.

Steps to Apply

Follow the steps to apply as a transfer student. Remember to select only Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)Criminology, or Public Affairs/Public & Nonprofit Management as your major choice on Apply Texas, as these are the only majors currently accepting specific Associate of Applied Science (WECM) credit.

After admission, you will need to complete the steps after admission for transfer students before you can register for classes.

Students can petition to receive credit for Associate of Applied Science (WECM) related courses as outlined on the UT Dallas Registrar’s Workforce Credit website. Students interested in petitioning for credit should see their UT Dallas academic advisor to determine the best application of elective credit and submit a Transfer Credit Earned Prior to Attending UTD Approval Form (TCEP), which is available on the UT Dallas Registrar’s Electronic Forms website.

The Comet Connection program invites transfer students to become acquainted with the many services available to UT Dallas students while beginning to build a close association with the university. Dallas College is a participating partner in the UT Dallas Comet Connection program.
