English Language and Writing Classes

Learn to Speak, Read and Write in English

Each of the campuses of Dallas College has a variety of English classes available to students. Whether you are looking to learn basic English speaking, reading and writing skills, or you want to take a course in world literature — or anything in between — we have something for you.

Students who qualify can improve their basic English skills by taking WorkReadyU's free English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. Students can then enhance their English reading, writing and speaking skills by enrolling in Continuing Education (CE) ESL classes, which are offered at all seven Dallas College campuses.

For students looking to take Core classes or earn credit toward an associate degree or certificate, each of the Dallas College campuses offers a variety of affordable English classes, including English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), composition, creative writing and literature. These courses will prepare you for the future, whether you choose to enter a profession or continue your education at a four-year college or university.
