Art Galleries and Collections

Concentrating on innovative work in contemporary art, the Forum Gallery is a center for teaching and learning in the visual arts. The gallery serves students in studio art, art history and art appreciation classes and serve as resources for the college and the larger community.

The Cedar Valley Educational Art Gallery seeks to enrich cultural life on campus and in the wider community. The goal is to support Cedar Valley Campuses' mission of adding value to the lives of students and enriching our community by exhibiting quality artwork.

Diverse exhibitions include the works of emerging and established contemporary artists, works from public and private collections, and students' selected artworks. The exhibition program is organized to challenge preconceived ideas of the definition of art and is intended to deepen the understanding and appreciation of the visual arts. The Educational Art Gallery offers a place where new ideas are explored and where the students are encouraged to discover, through close study of actual objects, the past and continued cultural importance of artworks and art making.

The main gallery is located on the Ground floor of the E Building (Art, Music, and Theatre).

Serves students in the studio art and art history courses at Dallas College and the larger community with an annual schedule of diverse art exhibitions, supporting the understanding and creation of contemporary art. Concentrating primarily on innovative, significant works of contemporary fine art, exhibitions feature the work of regional and national professional artists, along with annual exhibitions by the fine art faculty, staff and the studio art students enriching the aesthetic environment and comprising a cultural resource for the community.

In addition to exhibitions in Gallery 219, artworks from the Eastfield Permanent Art Collection are installed throughout the campus.

The Art Gallery opened in 2004 to feature fine art by students, faculty, and local and national artists. In 2006 a group was formed to establish the H. Paxton Moore Memorial Art Fund. Mr. Moore was a graduate of TCU (Texas Christian University) and was one of the first English instructors at El Centro when the campus opened in 1966. He formed the first visual arts committee to start purchasing works of art by students and professional artists to be displayed around the campus. His support continued even after his retirement. His dedication led to his colleagues, family, and friends establishing a fund to continue support for the Art Gallery, and on April 28, 2007, the gallery was formally changed to the H. Paxton Moore Fine Art Gallery.

The professional exhibitions feature regional, national, and international artists. We also feature an annual art faculty and staff exhibition and, an annual Juried Art Student Exhibition.

The Cliff Gallery is dedicated to presenting innovative exhibitions and programs that reflect the scope and diversity of visual art.

The over 900 square-foot Cliff Gallery provides a professional white-box space where artists working in all media can create exhibitions with few barriers. With state-of-the-art lighting, a permanently installed video projector and screen, durable rich dark vinyl flooring, 12 feet high ceiling and over 155 feet of total usable linear wall space, artists have realized envisioned installations in the Cliff Gallery.

The Kiva Gallery is dedicated to presenting innovative exhibitions and programs that reflect the scope and diversity of visual art.

Located on the Central Campus, the North Lake Gallery showcases the work of established local artists as well as emerging student voices. Visitors of all ages are invited to experience new cultures, perspectives, and realities.

Rachel McClung-Beer helped establish the Central Campus art gallery in 1977. North Lake’s first full-time art professor, McClung-Beer served on the planning team that designed the college campus. Her idea for an art gallery originated after a large mudslide. The building’s original configuration shifted, creating an additional open space next to the Performance Hall. McClung-Beer asked the administration to designate the space “Gallery” on the new set of plans. The rest is art history.

The North Lake Gallery is located on the bottom floor of the J building, in the heart of Central Campus, with easy access to the H building (Student Life Center).

To access from the front entrance (Circle Drive and Library): Enter the A building's sliding front doors and descend the staircase or take the elevator to the lowest level.

To access from the north (DART station, north parking lots): Enter the A building's lower level at the doors across from the gymnasium (F building) and walk down the hall until you emerge in the gallery. Or, for an outdoor approach, walk along the long sidewalk between the A and F buildings, then descend a short staircase to enter the building in front of you.

The Brazos Gallery is a 1,260 square foot space with 120 linear feet of wall space. It features 60 feet of glass looking into the gallery and onto the Richland Lake.

The Adolphus Tower Gallery, located at 1412 Main St. in Downtown Dallas, opened in September 2023 and showcases the paintings, digital art, photography, sculpture, and fashion of Dallas College students. The Adolphus Tower Gallery is maintained through a partnership between Dallas College and FGiii, Hoque Global, and Downtown Dallas Inc.
