This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing Computer Information Technology. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn a Web Development Certificate. Courses from this certificate may apply to the related A.A.S. degree. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.

The Web Development Certificate curriculum is designed to provide the skills necessary for an entry-level position as a Web Developer. Emphasis is upon the technical development of websites including networking, database concepts and web authoring using programming languages and software to produce interactive, and dynamic websites and web applications. Courses that complete the certificate and the Web Design Occupational Skills Award (OSA) are noted below.

Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites, as long as the student completes the TSI waiver form prior to enrollment.

Basic understanding of personal computers and operating systems as obtained in ITSC 1401 or BCIS 1405 or COSC 1301 or equivalent experience approved by designated Information Technology personnel.

ITSE 1301 – Web Design Tools (Course also applies to OSA)

ITSE 1370 – Introduction to Python Programming
