This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Associate Degree Nursing – Simulation Operations Specialist Advanced Technical Certificate. This guided pathway does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn the Simulation Operations Specialist Advanced Technical Certificate. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.

This program is required for students who have already completed an Associate Degree, bachelor's degree or higher in a nursing, allied health, or other science-based degree. A minimum grade requirement of "C" or better for all the courses is required.

The Simulation Operations Specialist Program is an advanced technical certificate that will prepare students for employment as Simulation Specialist. The Simulation Specialist works primarily to use a variety of simulation methods for education in operation of healthcare simulation centers and will help to prepare students for entry-level roles within a healthcare profession. The job duties may include supervising and training simulation users, operating simulators for training sessions, creating real life cases scenarios, ordering equipment, maintaining simulation equipment, and creating new course curriculum. Simulation Specialists will work in healthcare for simulation training, hospitals, higher education institutions, or simulation centers dedicated to healthcare training.
