This program introduces students to the refrigeration, mechanical, and electrical principles, necessary to begin an air conditioning or refrigeration career as a HVACR technician's helper. Commonly used tools and instruments are introduced, and safety is emphasized. The preferred program alternative is for the students to experience a cooperative work experience at the program's culmination. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn a Rising HVAC Technician Certificate. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements. Courses that complete the certificate and the Rising HVAC Technician Occupational Skills Award (ROSA) are noted below.

Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.
