This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Construction Technology Residential Construction Certificate. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn a Level I Certificate in Construction Technology Residential Construction. Courses from this certificate may apply to the related A.A.S. degree. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. This is a one-year certificate that provides the student with the technical knowledge and hands-on skills required to work as a craft person in Residential Building, Carpentry, or Contracting. In addition, the student will cover basic planning and materials estimating, problem solving, and human relations skills. Courses that complete this certificate and the Residential Construction Occupational Skills Award (OSA) and are noted below.
Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.
