This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Power Sports and Equipment Technology – Power Sports Certificate. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn a certificate in Power Sports. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.

This program is designed to train students to meet entry-level requirements in the field of motorcycle, ATV/UTV, side by side, outboard, and personal watercraft mechanics. This will include diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of foreign and domestic motorcycle and powersport equipment. Included in this program is the study of fuel, ignition and electrical systems, engine overhaul and. tune-up, chassis, and drive systems. Throughout the entire program an emphasis is placed on the latest factory recommended techniques. Courses that complete the certificate and the Power Sports Occupational Skills Award (OSA) are noted below.

Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.
