This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Welding Technology – Multiple Processes Welding Occupational Skills Award. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn the Multiple Processes Welding Occupational Skills Award. The courses from this certificate apply to the related A.A.S. degree. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. The Multiple Processes Welding Occupational Skills Award and the AAS consist of the same welding courses. The only difference between them is the AAS requires a small amount of additional academic coursework that the Occupational Skills Award does not require. Upon completion, students should possess the skills and knowledge for successful careers in welding. Courses that complete the Occupational Skills Award are noted below.
Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.

WLDG 2443 – Advanced Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
WLDG 2451 – Advanced Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) This is the capstone course for this award.
CHOOSE ONE:
- WLDG 1480 – Cooperative Education-Welding Technology/Welder OR
- WLDG 1437 – Introduction to Welding Metallurgy OR
- WLDG 2452– Advanced Flux Cored Arc Welding
SEMESTER 1 ACTION ITEMS
