This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Heating and Air Conditional Occupational Skills Award within the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology program. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn a Heating and Air Conditioning Occupational Skills Award. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College.
This program introduces students to the refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, and heat pump principles necessary to begin an air conditioning or refrigeration career as a HVACR technician's helper. Commonly used tools and instruments are introduced, and safety is emphasized. See catalog for official certificate requirements. Courses that complete the certificate are noted below.
Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.

HART 2349 – Heat Pumps This is the capstone course for this award.
