This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Construction Technology associate degree with an emphasis in Residential Builder/Contractor. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Construction Technology. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours (15 hours) required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official degree requirements.
Students interested in a high demand career that is fast-paced with job opportunities—the Construction Industry is for you. The Construction Technology program is designed to develop the hands-on skills and technical knowledge necessary so that a graduate may advance in career paths appropriate to their own interest5s and abilities. Some of the exciting career options include: field engineer, estimator, building inspection, insurance and manufacturing representative, field supervisor, sub-contractor, and builder in either commercial or residential construction/home building. A graduate will have also covered skills in other areas such as planning, and organization, problem solving and decision making, related communication, and business and human relations.
