This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing an Auto Body Technology Certificate. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn an Auto Body Technology Certificate. Courses from this certificate may apply to the related A.A.S. degree. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.
This program is designed to train a student in all facets of auto body repair and painting. Emphasis is placed upon those skills needed by the student to become a successful auto body repair person. This program offers the student a certificate in auto body technology upon successful completion of the program. Courses that complete this certificate and the Auto Body Metal Technician Occupational Skills Award (MOSA), the Auto Body Metal Technician Certificate (MC), the Auto Body Painter Occupational Skills Award (POSA), the Auto Body Painter Certificate (PC), and the Auto Body Shop Management Occupational Skills Award (MgmtOSA), Auto Body Shop Management Certificate (MgmtC) are noted below.

- SPCH 1311 – Introduction to Speech Communication OR
- SPCH 1315 – Public Speaking OR

- ABDR 2380 – Cooperative Education-Autobody/Collision and Repair Technology/Technician (Course also applies to PC) OR
- ABDR 2388 – Internship-Autobody/Collision and Repair Technology/Technician (Course also applies to PC) ABDR 2380 or ABDR 2388 is the capstone course for this award.
