This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Welding Technology – Structural Welding Level I Certificate. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn the Structural Welding Level I Certificate. Courses from this certificate apply to the related A.A.S. degree. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.
The Structural Welding Certificate is an intermediate welding program continuation after students earn the Rising Welder Level I Certificate. The additional certificate demonstrates students are at a higher intermediate level in both Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW). Courses that complete the certificate and the Rising Welder Level I certificate (RW) are noted below.
Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.
