This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Rising Plumber Level I Certificate. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn a Level I Rising Plumber Certificate. Courses from this certificate may apply to the related A.A.S. degree. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.
This program introduces students to fixtures, piping, and safety principles necessary to begin in the plumbing career as a plumber's helper. Commonly used tools and instruments are introduced and work safety is emphasized. The preferred program alternative is for each student to experience a cooperative work experience at the program's culmination. Courses that complete the Rising Plumber Certificate and the Rising Plumber Occupational Skills Award (OSA) are noted below.
Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.

PFPB 1373 – Introduction to the Plumbing Trade (Course also applies to OSA)
SEMESTER 1 ACTION ITEMS

- PFPB 1382 – Cooperative Education-Plumbing Technology/Plumber This is the capstone course for this award. (Course also applies to OSA) OR
- OSHT 1307 – Construction Site Safety and Health This is the capstone course for this award.
SEMESTER 2 ACTION ITEMS
- Meet with your success coach to request an official program of study audit and confirm or update your academic and career path and program of study.
- After reviewing your program of study, meet with your success coach to apply for the Rising Plumber Occupational Skills Award and the Rising Plumber Certificate.
