This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Advanced Technical Certificate. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn an Advanced Technical Certificate in Professional Accountancy. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.

Candidates for this certificate must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in any discipline prior to entering the program.

The courses in the Certificate in Professional Accountancy satisfy the accounting, research, ethics and business communication course requirements for eligibility to sit for the Certified Public Accountant Exam in the State of Texas. Courses that satisfy the business course requirements for CPA exam eligibility are also available to students but are not part of the degree plan.

The program focuses on advanced topics including financial accounting, taxation, and auditing. The intent of the program is to increase the quality and number of competent and ethical candidates to sit for the uniform CPA exam.

Admission Prerequisite: Students must complete all appropriate paperwork and request official transcripts from each college attended. Transcripts cannot be addressed to students and cannot be delivered by students.
