This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Networking Associate Certificate. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn a Networking Associate Certificate. Courses from this certificate may apply to the related A.A.S. degree. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.
This certificate option will provide education and training for individuals interested in developing their knowledge and skills as networking professionals with an emphasis on preparation for those wishing to take the CCNA certification examination. Courses that complete this certificate and the CISCO Networking CCNA Occupational Skills Award (OSA) are noted below.
Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites, as long as the student completes the TSI waiver form prior to enrollment.

Basic understanding of personal computers and operating systems as obtained in ITSC 1401, BCIS 1405, OR COSC 1301 or equivalent experience approved by designated Information Technology personnel.

ITCC 1314 – CCNA 1: Introduction to Networks (Course also applies to OSA)
ITCC 1344 – CCNA 2: Switching, Routing, and Wireless (Course also applies to OSA)
ITSY 1300 – Fundamentals of Information Security

*Upon completion of ITCC 2320, the student is eligible to take the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification exam, CompTIA Linux+, PCEP Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer.
