This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Engine Technology – Motorcycle Technology Certificate. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn a certificate in Motorcycle Technology. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.
The certificate program in Engine Technology – Motorcycle Technology is designed to train students to meet entry level requirements in the field of motorcycle mechanics. This will include diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of foreign and domestic motorcycles. Included in this program is the study of fuel, ignition, and electrical systems, engine overhaul and tune-up, and motorcycle chassis. Throughout the entire program an emphasis is placed on the latest factory recommended techniques. Courses that complete the certificate are noted below.
Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.
