This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing Veterinary Technology. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn a Veterinary Technology-Equine Clinical Skills Enhanced Skills Certificate.

The Equine Clinical Skills Enhanced Skills Award may be earned by students in conjunction with the AAS in Veterinary Technology. The veterinary technician working with horses in mixed animal or equine practice assists the veterinarian with clinical procedures and provides patient care as directed by the veterinarian. The curriculum is designed to provide the graduate with knowledge and skills focused on clinical cases in equine medicine that go beyond the scope of the AAS in Veterinary Technology curriculum. This award prepares the graduate both for work in clinical practice and to pursue advanced degrees or specialization in the field. Enrollment is limited to students who have completed a minimum of 30 hours of coursework in the AAS in Veterinary Technology degree. Technology. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.
