The guided pathway in Architecture, Field of Study is designed to meet the needs of students who plan to major in Architecture and transfer to a university. The Architecture program at Dallas College provides a curriculum of transferable college-level courses that give students the opportunity to gain exposure to the wide variety of skills that architects must master. Topics include architectural history, aesthetics, elements of design, hand-sketching techniques, computer graphics and structural concepts.
What follows is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Field of Study in Architecture. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn an A.S. degree with the Field of Study in Architecture, which will increase your likelihood of transferring to a university to major in Architecture. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours (15 hours) required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See the catalog for official degree requirements. This Field of Study degree in Architecture does not complete the Core.
