This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing Computer Aided Design and Drafting.
It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn an Advanced Architectural Drafting Certificate. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.
This certificate program prepares a student to become a certified Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) Operator specializing in architectural drafting and design within the construction industry. Skills developed include creating drawings using AutoCAD and Revit for residential and commercial applications. Additionally, students will be proficient in Revit Family Creation as well as industry specific topics in structural and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) design. Courses that complete the certificate, the Architectural Drafting Occupational Skills Award (OSA) and the Architectural Drafting Certificate (AC) are noted below.
Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.

DFTG 1417 – Architectural Drafting-Residential (Course applies to AC)
DFTG 1409 – Basic Computer-Aided Drafting (Course applies to OSA and AC)
