This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Logistics and Supply Chain Management associate degree. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours (15 hours) required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official degree requirements.

The Logistics and Supply Chain Management A.A.S. degree is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the growing fields of logistics, supply chain, and warehousing. This degree will provide graduates with the skills required of the industry, enable graduates to seek immediate employment, meet labor market demands, and permit greater economic competitiveness. Courses that complete the degree also complete the Logistics Distribution Technician Certificate (LD).

ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE DEGREE MINIMUM: 60 SEMESTER CREDIT HOURS

SEMESTER 1

ENGL 1301 – Composition I This is a Core course. Must earn a grade of “C" or higher.

LMGT 1319 – Introduction to Business Logistics (Course also applies to LD)

LMGT 1321 – Introduction to Materials Handling (Course also applies to LD)

LMGT 1340 – Contemporary Logistics Issues (Course also applies to LD)

CHOOSE ONE:

  • MATH 1314 – College Algebra This is a Core course. Must earn a grade of “C" or higher.
  • MATH 1342 – Elementary Statistical Methods This is a Core course. Must earn a grade of “C" or higher. OR
  • MATH 1324 – Mathematics for Business and Social Sciences This is a Core course. Must earn a grade of “C" or higher.

**LMGT 2388 Internship: Logistics and Materials Management serves as the capstone for the program. The course involves eighteen (18) hours per week of workplace experience and a one-hour lecture per week for sixteen weeks.  This provides a total of 288 workplace experience hours over a sixteen-week semester.
