This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Information Systems Administration Foundations Level I Certificate. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. This certificate is a building block towards the Information Systems Administration Specialist Level I Certificate. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.
This certificate is designed to provide the student with the foundation skills in information technology systems necessary to obtain employment in Computer User/Help Desk Support. Students will acquire hands-on learning experience and troubleshooting skills to serve as Information Technology support professionals. This award also provides training for a variety of industry-recognized certifications valuable to have in a competitive marketplace. Credit may be earned, and course substitutions are permitted for candidates who have acquired certifications such as: Network+, Google IT Professional Certificate, and any other certifications related to courses listed in the degree. Courses that complete the certificate are noted below.
Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites, as long as the student completes the TSI waiver form prior to enrollment.
