This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing a degree in Electrical Construction. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Electrical Construction. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours (15 hours) required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official degree requirements.
In partnership with the Dallas Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee, the A.A.S. program is designed to prepare you for employment as a Journeyman Electrician. Successful completion of all phases of the curriculum and the on-the-job training prepares the student for numerous career opportunities in the field of Electrical Construction. In addition to providing the specified technical skills and knowledge required to be successful in the industry, this program also covers skills in other related areas such as organization and planning, supervision, and problem-solving and decision-making. Courses that complete the degree are noted below.
Students pursuing this Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree are required to take all portions of the TSI Assessment, but do not need to place at college-level math or take Developmental Math courses to be TSI met. Students must successfully complete a natural science course with a grade of “C" or better to graduate.
