Following this pathway will help you earn a Custom Auto/Street Rod Fabrication Certificate. Courses from this certificate may apply to the related A.A.S. degree. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.

This certificate will provide education and training for individuals who would like to explore the basic techniques needed to design, modify and build street rods or custom automobiles. This program introduces students to the history, evolution and concepts of both street rod and the customizing of automobiles as it applies to construction, enhancement and refurbishment including techniques in welding, developing fabrication skills like shaping and forming steel or aluminum panels, and shop safety.

Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites, as long as the student completes the TSI waiver form prior to enrollment.
