This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Networking Security Awards. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn a Mobile Applications Developer Certificate. Courses from this certificate may apply to the related A.A.S. degree. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.

This one-semester certificate option is designed to provide training for persons wanting to develop Android mobile applications from design to deployment. Topics include web application design and responsive layout using HTML5/CSS3, native application design and development using Java and Android Studio core functionality and hybrid development using industry accepted tools, processes and procedures. Graduates will be qualified to enter the workforce as an entry-level Android Mobile applications developer. Courses that complete the certificate are noted below.

Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.

CERTIFICATE MINIMUM: 16 SEMESTER CREDIT HOURS

PREREQUISITE

Basic understanding of personal computers and operating systems as obtained in ITSC 1401 or BCIS 1405 or COSC 1301 and problem solving and logic structures as obtained in ITSE 1429 or equivalent experience approved by designated Information Technology personnel.
