This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Engine Technology-Marine/Small Engine Technology Certificate. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn a certificate in Engine Technology-Marine/Small Engine Technology. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.

This certificate program is designed to provide students interested in Engine Technology as an option for training in Marine Engine Technology OR Small Engine Technology. Students will be able to go right to work or start on your next engine project with an up-to-date troubleshooting and repair techniques, mechanical theory plus hands-on experience, a solid foundation in engine transmissions, electrical systems, troubleshooting and tune-up procedures. Courses that complete the Marine Track Certificate and Small Engine Track Certificate are noted below. A student must complete all courses in ONE specialty track option (Marine or Small Engine) to be awarded this certificate.

Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.
