This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Welding Technology - Machinist Certificate​​. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn the Machinist Certificate. Courses from this certificate may apply to the related A.A.S. degree. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.

The Machinist Certificate provides students the necessary skills to perform a wide variety of manual and CNC machining operations involving both, vertical milling and turning equipment. Upon completion of this award, students will be able to interpret engineer drawings, make the necessary calculations, and then independently plan and carry out most common machining tasks with proficiency and within industry-standard timeframes. Courses that complete the certificate are noted below.

Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.
