Following this pathway will help you earn a LINUX System Administrator Certificate. Courses from this certificate may apply to the related A.A.S. degree. This certificate is designed to provide a basic understanding of the duties associated with a LINUX System Administrator. Students must complete the courses below in sequence. Courses that complete the certificate are noted below.
Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites, as long as the student completes the TSI waiver form prior to enrollment.

Basic understanding of personal computer and operating systems as obtained in ITSC 1401 or BCIS 1405 or COSC 1301 or equivalent experience approved by designated Information Technology personnel.
