This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Cisco Networking Assistant Skills Achievement Award. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn a Cisco Networking Assistant Skills Achievement Award. Courses from this certificate may apply to the related A.A.S. degree. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. This certificate option will provide education and training for individuals interested in developing their knowledge and skills as networking professionals with an emphasis on preparation for those wishing to take the CCNA certification examination. Courses that complete the Cisco Networking Assistant Skills Achievement Award are noted below.

Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.

CERTIFICATE MINIMUM: 8 SEMESTER CREDIT HOURS

PREREQUISITE 

Basic understanding of personal computers and operating systems as obtained in ITSC 1401 or BCIS 1405 or COSC 1301 or equivalent experience approved by designated Information Technology personnel​.

ITCC 2420 – CCNA 3: Enterprise Networking, Security, and Automation

CHOOSE ONE:

  • ITSC 1416 – Linux Installation and Configuration OR
  • ITSE 1402 – Computer Programming             ​
