The Field of Study in Business Administration and Management is designed to meet the needs of students who plan to major in Business and transfer to the University Texas at Arlington (UT Arlington). This curriculum applies to the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) as deemed appropriate by the awarding institution.

This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing Business Administration and Management. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree with a Field of Study in Business Administration and Management, which will increase your chances of transfer to earn a BBA at UT Arlington. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours (15 hours) required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official degree requirements.

HIST 1301 – United States History I This is a Core course.

MATH 1324 – Mathematics for Business & Social Sciences This is a Core course. Must earn a grade of “C" or higher.

PHED 1164 – Introduction to Physical Fitness and Wellness This is a Core course.

CHOOSE ONE:   

  • SPCH 1315 – Public Speaking This is a Core course. OR
  • ​SPCH 1321 – Business and Professional Communication

SEMESTER 1 ACTION ITEMS

  1. Meet with your advisor to confirm academic and career goals before the end of the semester.
  2. Begin researching information at UT Arlington to pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration (in fields like Accounting, Finance, Marketing, etc.) or a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Behavior and Resource Management.
  3. Meet with a career advisor/coach to research your career options with a degree in Business.
