This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Automotive Technology – Dealership-Sponsored Technician (Ford ASSET Emphasis Track) associate degree. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Automotive Technology – Dealership-Sponsored Technician (Ford ASSET Emphasis Track). Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours (15 hours) required for graduation through instruction by the Dallas College. See catalog for official degree requirements.
The A.A.S. degree program in Automotive Technology – Dealership-Sponsored Technician (Ford ASSET Emphasis Track) is a specialized program designed to prepare students for entry level employment as Automotive technicians in Ford dealership. Students entering this program must be sponsored by participating dealerships approved by the College. Emphasis is placed upon the development of the necessary skills and knowledge required to function in Automotive dealerships repairing and maintaining late model Automobiles with electronic systems. This program includes operational theory, practical skills, and accepted shop procedures reinforced by intensive practice during cooperative work experience periods in the sponsoring dealership. Courses that complete the degree are noted below.

** Students enrolled in the Ford ASSET Emphasis Track are required a minimum of six credit hours of cooperative work experience through the completion of three (3) two-credit hour courses or two (2) three-credit hour courses. The courses must be selected from the following courses: AUMT 1281, AUMT 2280, AUMT 2281, AUMT 2380, AUMT 2381.
