The Associate of Arts in Teaching (A.A.T.) is a Board-approved collegiate degree program consisting of lower-division courses intended for transfer to baccalaureate ​programs that lead to initial Texas teacher certification. This plan is for those who are interested in earning certification to teach 4-8 grades in a generalist classroom setting​ or Special Education at all levels.

This pathway is an example course sequence for students interested in transferring to UNT Dallas to pursue the bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with certification in grades 4-8, ELAR and ESL. Following this pathway will help you earn an A.A.T. degree 4-8/Special Education EC-12.
