Google Sitemap – Dallas College

The Google Sitemap is set up in the section Home » Dallas College » Google Sitemap. The section is set up with the following options:

'Show in navigation' unchecked
Archive section checked
Output file name set to sitemap.xml
Using the Blank XML page layout

The content is added using the Code Only content type to add the syntax and 2x navigation objects (1x related content to return XML for the home section, 1x publish to one file to return XML for the rest of the site). The navigation objects return the xml/sitemap layout from the SectionMetaDescription system content type (id: 75). This layout contains the logic to generate for a section, and can be customised to add rules to exclude pages/branches.

Each content type which uses a fulltext layout has its own xml/sitemap-fulltext layout.
