Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Project
An opportunity for students at Dallas College’s Eastfield, El Centro or North Lake campuses.
The Department of Education's Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions (DHSI) Program provides grants to assist Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) to expand educational opportunities for, and improve the attainment of, Dallas College's diverse student body. These grants also enable HSIs to expand and enhance their academic offerings, program quality, and institutional stability.
These three Dallas College campuses will be offering a variety of services designed to boost your success.
Services will include:
- Free educational workshops on financial literacy, including financial aid options, work-study opportunities and scholarships
- Free academic tutoring in core subjects
- Internship/apprenticeship opportunities in health, business, technology, education and construction programs
- Regular check-ins with academic and success coaches to discuss grades, enrollment, transfer, and job training and development
- Free monthly workshops on academic, career and personal growth topics in partnership with community and business organizations
