Scott K. Wright

Chief Facilities Officer

Scott K. Wright is a reliable leader who values integrity, trust and punctuality, embodying these values in his daily operations to create a safe and functional environment for both students and employees. Having spent the first half of his career in the Air Force, the experiences he gained there prepared him for success in facilities management.

Wright is currently the chief facilities operator at Dallas College. In his role, he is well-versed in all aspects of facilities management including HVAC, construction, grounds, electrical, plumbing, custodial, fire and life safety, energy management, sustainability and more. An expert in his field, he took on the challenge to design a new facilities management department for the college in 2020 and added several new functions to better serve its people.

Retiring from the Air Force opened a new path in Wright's life, and he credits his success to a previous boss at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas who taught him the importance that facilities management plays in a higher education environment. Wright applies his mentor's lessons daily to facilitate the mission of Dallas College in each aspect of his work.

When Wright isn't innovating new ideas or overseeing construction, operation and maintenance across Dallas College's 5.5 million square feet and 1,300 acres, you can find him spending time with his wife and three boys. He doesn't just oversee the college's property — in his free time, you'll catch him maintaining his own four acres. Wright is eager to share his insights and skills with the community to help foster excellence in the facilities management field.
