Josh Skolnick

Executive Director of the Dallas College Foundation

Josh Skolnick is a caring leader who dedicates his career to empowering local communities to change the status quo by developing innovative solutions to longstanding challenges. Skolnick is particularly passionate about finding ways for philanthropy to invest in public sector innovation and help close our local and national opportunity divides.

Skolnick is currently the executive director of Dallas College Foundation. In his role, he channels the power of philanthropy to lift Dallas College and its students to new heights of innovation, excellence and equity. He utilizes his passion for storytelling, project development and collaboration to help solve problems and inspire change across the Dallas community.

Skolnick has national experience developing and leading programs that harness philanthropy's power to make the public sector more effective and innovative. He previously served as deputy director of strategic initiatives for the U.S. Department of Education under the Obama administration and lead the development of the Bloomberg Center for Cities while at Bloomberg Philanthropies. Through each endeavor, Skolnick remains passionate about helping communities find the resources they need to become more innovative and effective while serving local residents.

When Skolnick isn't inspiring others to foster community empowerment, you can find him hanging out with his family, running after his two sons, or closely following the latest baseball game scores or political commentary. He is looking forward to spreading awareness about the importance of philanthropy not only as a means to support individual students but to support broader community transformation as well.
