Iris Freemon

Dr. Iris Freemon is a strategic leader attuned to the dynamic environment of community colleges and socioeconomic mobility. Early in her public service career, Dr. Freemon recognized that transformative change required education — and she has dedicated the rest of her career to making a significant impact in the field.
Dr. Freemon currently serves as the vice chancellor of advancement and innovation at Dallas College. In her role, she focuses on removing barriers for student success, understanding communities, creating strategies for effective change, growing partnerships and workforce development.
Valuing the power of mentorship, Dr. Freemon believes it's critical to build a network and learn from one's circle, including family. In addition to gaining lessons from strong education leaders, she credits her parents as having a great influence on her career.
Dr. Freemon enjoys making an impact among students and her local community. When she isn't creating innovative strategies for student success, you can find her generously dedicating her time to a variety of local organizations.
