Gloria Smith
Vice Provost of Workforce Education
Gloria Smith is a seasoned transformational leader focused on leadership, innovation and dedication to advancing adult education and workforce development. She is proudest of the impact her work has on students as it helps improve the quality of life for present and future generations.
Smith currently serves as the vice provost of workforce education at Dallas College. In her role, she builds strategic partnerships with businesses and industries, improves student satisfaction and fosters economic growth through workforce development.
After taking a risk and leaving her full-time job, Smith entered the field of higher education as an adjunct instructor. As her career transformed, she was inspired by many influential people — including her assistant dean — who encouraged her to learn as much as possible about higher education. With this guidance, Smith’s career pathway was forever impacted.
When Smith isn’t enhancing workforce pipeline programs, you can find her enriching her mind through the pages of a great book. She also enjoys spending time with her family. Smith looks forward to inspiring the community with her loyalty and dedication to making a lasting impact on students and the workforce.
