Ahava Silkey-Jones
Vice Provost, School of Creative Arts, Entertainment and Design
Ahava Silkey-Jones is a passionate arts leader and seasoned administrator who believes deeply in the power of connection, creativity and community. She prides herself on bringing joy and creating meaningful opportunities for students that have the potential to change the trajectory of their lives.
Silkey-Jones currently serves as the vice provost for Dallas College’s School of Creative Arts, Entertainment and Design (CAED), where she leads external partnerships, provides strategic and operational leadership and serves as an ambassador to businesses and community partners.
She fell into education unexpectedly but quickly discovered a calling that blended creativity, leadership and service. Guided by mentors and a willingness to embrace new opportunities, she built a career grounded in the belief that the arts are a catalyst for opportunity, belonging and transformation.
When she isn’t supporting her students or connecting with the Dallas arts community, you can find her volunteering, attending events and spending time with her family exploring the arboretum, local parks and trails, or cheering on her kids at youth sports, music and dance events. Silkey-Jones is focused on expanding the reach of Dallas’s creative industries, strengthening partnerships and building new pathways for students to thrive. She is excited to engage with the community and amplify the college’s impact through the arts.
